1. What is tidal range?
Tidal range is the difference of the water level between high tide and low tide.
2. What causes high and low tides?
High and low tides are caused by the gravitational force of the earth and the moon.
3. What causes Spring and Neap tides?
Spring tides are caused by the sun and the moon's gravitational force working together (when they are aligned). Neap tides are caused by the force of the moon and the sun pulling against each other,
4. How does tidal range effect types of organisms and the shape and size of the organism?
Many organisms living in the ocean adapt to their environment just like any living creature would. Tidal range could effect the organisms that live near the reefs or shallow waters that depend on sunlight or other sources for life. Coral it self doesn't grow vertically but horizontally because if it grew vertically coral would be sticking out of the ocean. Fish that lay their eggs depend on high or low tide. Even some sea urchins would have their spikes broken off because the waves would be to strong, which is caused by the tide.
